How To Submit A Fertiliser Sample
- Fertiliser samples must be submitted in clean, tightly sealed sample bags or bottles (may be plastic) and clearly labelled.
- Spillage onto other samples will result in sample contamination and incorrect analyses.
Sample Labelling
- Clearly label ALL sample containers with the Sample ID/Field number, Soil depth (if applicable) and your Contact details.
- Ensure that the correct FAS submission form (Soil, Leaf, Fertiliser or Water) is filled in and attached to your box of samples.
- Ensure that the sample information on the submission form and sample packaging are the same.
- Minimum information required on the sample package is your contact name, number and sample ID.
Sample Service Request Forms
- Contact name
- Contact number
- Postal address
- E-mail address is compulsory
- VAT number (if available)
Where to Drop-Off Samples
Samples can be dropped off at our laboratory in Mount Edgecombe, Durban in person or at the sample bin outside our security gate. The samples can also be sent to our Laboratory via any courier service (at your cost).
However, there are a number of FREE sample drop off points in the sugarcane-growing regions. These include SASRI Extension offices.
We do not encourage the use of the Post Office as there is a significant risk that the samples will be lost or damaged.
Payment Terms
New customers may have to pay cash / EFT and use their name or farm name as a reference. Email us the proof of payment or send it with your samples.
